Electronics Component (Obsolescence) Engineer |
| Description: |
- Will act as the Electronics Component Obsolescence Engineer in a circuit design environment, which entails the monitoring of electronic component obsolescence database, identification/analysis of obsolescence issues, and recommend alternative components (with longer lifetimes)
- Reviews new part requests received from engineers for availability, viability of manufacturer
- Evaluate Life cycle status and available second sources
- Maintains approved part database, creates models and symbols of new parts for use in DxDesigner, Allegro, and/or OrCad
- Also creates vendor item drawings and/or selected item drawings for release of approved parts
This is a 6+ month contract assignment, possibly temp to perm.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of recent and relevant experience
- Must have hands on experience with generation of bill of materials (BOM)
- Schematic capture experience is preferred
- BSEE or BEST
- US Citizenship required

Power Electronics Engineer will be working as part of a team on power electronic designs. They will be tasked with analyzing the requirements, researching and proposing solutions, performing Analysis (math, simulation and experimental data), developing prototypes, Testing and Troubleshooting.
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3-4 years of recent experience in the design and development of power supplies from the component level (from scratch)
- Experience in both new product development and maintenance of existing products
- Familiar and comfortable with completing all associated documentation throughout the design and testing
- Experience conducting and documenting
- Qualification Testing highly preferred
- Must be an expert in all aspects of power electronic design including AC/DC, CD/DC and DC/AC conversion and control techniques
- Candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of Switched-Mode Converter Topologies, Control Techniques and behavior of semiconductor and passive devices
- Software: Analysis – MathCad; Simulation – psim and other SPICE programs (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis); Layouts – Eagle; Power worked with – 700Watt – 3 KW range
- BSEE required
- US Citizenship required

- Power worked with – 1Kilowatt to 50 Kilowatt range
- US Citizenship required
- BSEE Required
